Things to do in Paris, France
Paris is the city of love. It is so beautiful and fun, it is only a 40 minute flight away from London and a two hour train ride if you decide to catch the Eurostar instead.
The only plan I had for Paris was to explore the tourist sites, do lots of shopping and eat outside at amazing cafes and restaurants.
Eiffel Tower
The number one tourist attraction in Paris. Have you even been to Paris if you haven't had a picture by the Eiffel Tower?
We were lucky enough to go up and see the views of Paris from the 2nd floor, luckily it was a clear day.
Arc de Triomphe
This monument represents the various victories of the French Army under Napoleon.
Seine River Cruise
There are two options for the cruise you can go for a tour or have a nice lunch/dinner experience. It is a unique way to see Paris and hear about the history.
Here are the highlights:
- Eiffel Tower
- Louve
- Musée d'Orsay
- Notre Dame Cathedral
- Pont Alexandre III Bridge
Louve
The most visited museum in the world, home to the best known works of art including the Mona Lisa. The Louve collection is one of the richest in the world and represents over 11,000 years of human civilisation and culture.
One of my favourites part of the Louve to explore was the Napoleon III Apartments.

Moulin Rouge
The birthplace of the can-can dance which opened in 1889 has influenced the cabaret shows all over Europe. It is a must see show. The atmosphere is incredible, it is illegal to video record the show so the only way to see it is in person.
You can either watch the show with a bottle of champagne or have a three course meal.

Shopping
The best place to shop is obviously the Champs - Élysées which is home to the Louis Vuitton flagship store. The Chanel flagship store is also a must visit. There are also many shops that sell sample designer goods. We also visited Galeries Lafayette.
Paris Fashion week is an exciting time to come and see the Parisian style, this always happens in end of February and end of September.
Restaurants and Café's
Di Vino
This is a popular little spot near the Eiffel Tower which serves Italian food. You can sit outside and enjoy the ambience.
Coco
This restaurant is very expensive but serves delicious food. It is definitely worth the money, located in the Palais Garnier Opera House. They also have singers come around and serenade you with any song you request.
Café Marly
This is a pretty little café which overlooks the Louve Museum.
Kong
The interior is very fashionable and for any Sex and the City fans this is a filming location worth visiting.
Café De Flore
This beautiful corner café is the perfect place to spot celebrities and has been a popular filming location for many TV shows. It is also one of the oldest coffeehouses in Paris.
Carette
Serving the best hot chocolates and finger foods!
Le Relais De L'Entrecote
This restaurant only serves one meal which is steak and chips. It really is the best they give out a salad for starters then TWO rounds of steak and chips, you then can have a choice for desert but you will feel stuffed!
It is a very popular restaurant they will have queues all night long. We had to wait one hour before we got a seat but it was definitely worth it.
Café Trocadeo
Perfect little spot to eat crepes whilst looking at the Eiffel Tower glistening at night.
