Things to do in Orlando

Orlando is well known for their theme parks and shopping. Here are some tips for when you are there.

Universal Studios - Halloween Horror Nights

Luckily on my short stay at Orlando, Universal Studios was open from 6pm-2am for the Halloween Horror Nights so I decided to skip a night of sleep and go to the theme park.

The decorations and set up was incredible there were zombies, monsters and clowns chasing you with chain swords and screaming. The best scare zones were Zombieland Double Tap, Vikings Undead, Rob Zombie Hellbilly Deluxe, Anarch-cade and Vanity Ball.

My favourite haunted houses were Netflix’s Stranger Things, Us, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Ghostbusters and Yeti: Terror of the Yukon. My favourite rides were Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy and The Simpsons Ride™. There was an amazing water and light show starring songs from Stranger Things and Ghostbusters.

Univeral Studios

This is my favourite theme park, I ticked off a few more rides like Transformers: The ride 3D, ET Adventure and Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.

I love walking around the park exploring the different areas: Hollywood, New York, San Francisco, Production Central, Woddy Woodpecker's Kidzone, World Expo, Springfield, USA: Home of the Simpsons and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley.

During the New Year they had two shows on the Universal holiday parade featuring Macy's and the Cinematic celebration light show.

Islands of Adventure

The park had many incredible areas: Marvel Superhero Island, Toon Lagoon, Skull Island: Reign of Kong, Jurassic Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade, The Lost Continent and Seuss Landing.

My favourite rides were: The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Skull Island: Reign of Kong, Jurassic Park River Adventure and Jurassic World VeliociCoaster (which is the new rollercoaster that opened in 2021).

Harry Potter World

Harry Potter world is located at both the theme parks Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It is good to get a park to park admission ticket so you can use the Hogwarts Express Train experience.

There are so many incredible ride such as Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. They also had the frog choir and the magic christmas lights at the castle shows.

Universal City Walk

This is the place for great night time entertainment open 7 days a week. They have many shops, bars, restaurants and clubs for all ages. I tend to go here in the evening for dinner and live music. Make sure you check the website to see what special events are on when you are in Orlando.

I also got to spend the New Years 2022 there. It was buzzing with people cheering and celebrating from all over the world.

Disney Springs

Disney Springs is full of themed restaurants, shops and fun activities such as bowling, hot air balloon ride and shows. The restaurants I have tried are Raglan Road (Irish Pub), Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex and The Edison.

Shopping:

-Florida Shopping Mall

-Orlando International Premium Outlets

-Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets

Shopping in America is amazing as you always get the best deals. My favourite shops are Zara, Macys, Sephora, Holister and M&M World (Chocoholic!). I always find time to go to Target, CVS, iHop and my favourite fast food restaurant Chick-fil-a. You can always find the best deals at the outlet.
